"Naming your emotions is the first step to taming them" ~ Dan Siegel
In our first unit, “Everything is Possible,” students will explore what it really means to adopt the “Everything is Possible” mindset. Together, we’ll look at how curiosity, creativity, and big dreams can shape the way we approach daily challenges and long-term goals. Students will practice seeing possibilities instead of limits and discover how positive thinking can open doors to new opportunities.
Alongside this, we’ll also be continuing to lay a strong foundation with the Zones of Regulation curriculum. The Zones give us a simple, shared language for talking about feelings—reminding us that all emotions are normal and important.
We’ll begin by exploring the four zones, learning which emotions fall into each one, and connecting them to our own experiences. By practicing this awareness, students can better recognize when they’re starting to feel less regulated and use strategies to return to a place of balance.
Regulation is a skill that everyone—kids and adults alike—continues to practice. Through the Zones, students will gain tools to identify, express, and manage their emotions in healthy ways, setting the stage for success both inside and outside the classroom.
