Curriculum & Lesson Plans
Resources for LGBTQ inclusion & anti-bias bullying. A great place to start with young children is starting with lessons on all types of families, including step families, single parent families, multigenerational families, etc. See the Welcoming Schools website for some great resources on all types of families as well as anti-bias bullying.
- Welcoming Schools (Grades K-8) Lesson plans in preventing bias-based bullying, inclusion of all kinds of families, and LGBTQ inclusive lesson plans.
- Teaching LGBTQ History (Grades K-12) Designed specifically for California educators. Includes a comprehensive searchable database of History related and LGBTQ+ lesson plans for elementary, middle, and high school.
- GLSEN Lesson Plans (Grades K-12) A variety of lesson plans including anti-bias bullying, no name calling, identity, and LGBTQ.
- Pop’n’Olly (Grades K-6). Some free resources as well as book recommendations. This website is out of the UK.
- It Gets Better Project EduGuides (High School – Adult) It Gets Better is a non-profit with the mission to uplift and empower LGBTQ youth. They have created multiple educational guides to accompany their many videos, books, and more.
