Reservations
- Reservations open Thursday, April 3 at 12:30 pm.
- Reservations close Tuesday, April 29 at 4:30 pm.
While this is a FREE EVENT, space is limited, and it will be helpful if only committed participants register. Thank you for your thoughtful registration. Please double-check your calendar and consider any potential conflicts that could interfere with your attendance at this event before you register. Please do not register to hold a spot that could otherwise be reserved by another family who wants to attend.
After you have filled out the online reservation, please complete the kindergarten student information form to ensure we have the proper pronunciation of your student’s name, and to record your child’s favorite kindergarten memory and what they want to be when they grow up. This will be read by Sarah Zuev when students come up to receive their graduation certificates.
In the last step of registration, PLEASE indicate how many supporters will be attending!
Reservations close April 29 at 4:30 pm.

- No jeans or flip-flops are to be worn by any students, please.

Promotion Messages
We will be providing a digital program at the event!
If you would like to include a special message or “shout out” to your student, please submit a message by Friday, May 9 at 4:00 pm by using the button below.
Take a look at the example to get an idea of what your message will look like in our program!
All About My Kinder Year Poster Board
* Please note that these can be made however you wish, but we do encourage some sort of sturdy cardboard/poster board material! Something that can be leaned up or set up on its own is always helpful, but not required! Poster board or trifold project boards are great options! These can be found at most stores including the Dollar Store!
We will be providing a space at the ceremony for Kindergarteners to showcase their optional “All About My Kinder Year” posters!
We encourage families to work with their Kindergarteners on creating an “All About My Kinder Year” poster board and use this project as a time to reflect on all the fun times and growth you and your Kindergartener have seen over the past year!
Your board could include, but is not limited to:
– Your Kindergartener’s name and birthday
– Pictures of your Kindergartener’s favorite memories over the past year
– Favorite books they have read or had read to them this year
– A favorite concept or lesson they learned this year
– What they hope to be when they grow up
* Please take your poster boards back home after the ceremony!
If you are looking for some ideas of how to create this poster board, you can look at the pictures below! If you have any questions about this project, please email ashley.zandonella@cottonwoodk12.org.

Learn the Kindergarten Farewell Song
We will provide a time during the ceremony for our kindergarteners to perform the “Kindergarten Farewell Song.” Supporters, family, and friends are encouraged to learn and sing along with us! Watch the video to learn the lyrics, tune, and motions to the “Kindergarten Farewell Song.”
Practice the Song at the Curriculum Showcase
Kindergarteners will also have a chance to practice the song on Friday, May 9 at the Curriculum Showcase, which will be held at the Folsom Community Center. As soon as the 12:30 raffle ends, we will have a short run-through of the “Kindergarten Farewell” song words, tune, and motions!
If your student wants to participate, this is a great opportunity for them to learn the song and get some nervous jitters out of the way! Please remember that singing this song at the event is completely optional and meant to be a fun and engaging way for the students to engage in their ceremony.
Practice Tips for the Big Day
Please take some time to practice and prepare your student for this ceremony! This ceremony is intended to be a low-pressure, fun, and engaging way to celebrate the achievements of the kindergarteners and families of The Cottonwood School! We encourage you to talk through the ceremony with your students beforehand to prepare them for their big day!
Sometimes, it can be overwhelming for the littles to stand in front of a big crowd, especially if is in a new place! For the day of the ceremony, please prepare your student to:
- Look for the Cottonwood teacher to hold up their color so that they can get ready with their group to receive their graduation certificates and have their name and info read.
- Accept their certificate when it is handed to them and wait patiently to sit back down quietly until they are asked to join their family/supporters.
- Stand up and sing the “Kindergarten Farewell” song in front of the audience when prompted.
* We understand we are working with kindergarteners! If any of this is something you feel your student will have difficulty with or will need assistance with, please don’t hesitate to share this with us at the event! We plan on being flexible!
